This Private had his image taken by "Fuller" in Madison, Wisconsin. Someone wrote "Mower (Warner's Son)" on the back of the photo. He is wearing a frock coat like those issued to the 15th in May 1862. The 15th was not in Madison between early March 1862, and its' muster out by companies from December 1864 through February 1865. Therefore this image was probably taken when this soldier was: first enlisted as a recruit to fill vacancies sometime after the 15th left Wisconsin in March 1862; back in Wisconsin on recruiting duty in December 1863 through March or April of 1863; at home on leave at any point after May 1862 until early 1865; or back from the war after being mustered out of the army. If you have any idea who this forgotten soldier is, then please contact Marc and Beth Storch who own this photo and have provided permission for its use. Thank you for any clues you can provide!
