Enlisted in the 15th Wisconsin on December 10, 1861 in Worth County, State of
Iowa
Was 19 year old unmarried farmer with blue eyes, red hair, fair skin, 5 feet 6 inches
tall
Honored for bravery in December 1862 Battle of Stone River, Tennessee
Taken Prisoner of War during September 19-20, 1863 Battle of Chickamauga, Georgia
Died of disease as POW in March 1864 at Libby Prison, Richmond, Virginia
